Mum, Toddler and Baby Favourites: May 2017

mum toddler and baby favourites

I’ve been doing a “monthly favourites” feature on A Model Recommends for years and years – it’s usually solely beauty products, but now and then a book creeps in, or a pair of shoes or something random. Recently I’ve found myself wanting to talk about more baby and toddler things, but it just didn’t feel quite right to bundle them in with beauty and so I’ve decided to do a dedicated Mum, Baby and Toddler Favourites feature here on The Uphill.

Here’s the first one – five exemplary things that caught my eye during the month of May. Enjoy, comment, share; the product links, if you don’t mind a spoiler, are below the video pane.

I used to drink that Weleda tea a lot with both my kids, now I can’t even stand to look at it anymore, I am so over it.

I think I’m slightly addicted to it. I’ve just run out and having withdrawals.

The tea is probably contributing to your oversupply of milk! I had the same issue with my first baby and was unknowingly guzzling loads of breastfeeding tea, thinking it must be doing wonders for something or other (milk quality?! I’m not sure what I thought, it just seemed logical. It DOES seem logical!) With my second my midwife told me to drink sage tea to calm the supply down when it first came in and it worked wonders. (See my comment on your overactive tits post.) I love your writing, I find you very relatable!

Thanks Charlie! Like I say in the video, it actually balanced things out rather than adding to the problem, however I have now run out anyway so am going to see what happens! Watch this space.. x

I must confess I have yet to watch the video. How annoying of me, sorry. I have to wait until I’m not feeding a baby to sleep! Still, I hope I could help. X

Hi Ruth, love your blog! I’ve enjoyed reading from day one as I fell pregnant a few months after you – so was great to follow someone else’s journey through pregnancy and motherhood.

I’m now expecting my 2nd baby and hoping to crack BF this time round. Have you or could you do a post on BF essentials? There are so many products available im totally confused! Like how many BF tops do I really need? I understand the need for a few nursing bras and tops for when out and about but do I really need a whole new wardrobe for BF?! I’m not sure my finances can stretch that far!!! X
